The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, will present a free workshop on how to take employee performance from good to great from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Chamber’s Community Room, 201 S. Magnolia Ave. in El Cajon. The workshop, titled, “A Model of Employee Engagement: Improving Performance from Good to Simply the Best,” will be presented by Dr. Sommer Kehrli, executive director with The Centre for Organization Effectiveness. This workshop will cover how to build employee engagement by aligning to the overall organizational strategy, communication techniques to enhance engagement and the best ways to develop employees’ skills to maximize engagement. The workshop, the third of the Chamber’s series of three, is designed to help East County small business owners improve their employee productivity and performance and help businesses thrive.
In addition, the East County Chamber will host its First Friday Breakfast at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Foothills Christian Church, 315 W. Bradley Ave., in El Cajon. It will be the Chamber’s first breakfast event of the 2013 calendar year. Cost to attend is $20 per person for members, $25 per person for non-members. Chamber members can bring a prospective member and both people can attend for free. The program will include networking, announcements and a game designed to help attendees meet new people and expand contacts.
