La Mesa Chamber to present `Casino Royale’ on Feb. 21

The East County Herald has been selected as the media sponsor for the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s fifth annual “Casino Royale” fundraising event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Town and Country Resort Hotel & Convention Center, Pacific Ballroom, 500 Hotel Circle North, in San Diego’s Mission Valley area. The James Bond-themed night will feature casino-style gaming, including black jack, roulette and craps, food stations, a silent auction, raffles and fun. In addition to the blackjack, craps and roulette, the event will include honoring local heroes, including police, fire and paramedic employees and Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) members. Cost to attend is $50 per person or $80 for two tickets. Admission includes $200 in gaming chips.
Eight local heroes will be honored, including paramedics Ryan Ferguson and Paul Forney of American Medical Response, Battalion Chief Kelly Sisson and firefighter Brandon Drips of Heartland Fire & Rescue, officer Derek Cox and dispatcher Kathy Norman of the La Mesa Police Department and RSVP members Don Kurban and Dick Thomas.
The event’s title sponsor is EDCO.
