San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution with three local East County branch offices in El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee, has announced its support of families and parents with young teenage girls by serving as presenting sponsor of Girls World Expo on Sunday, Oct. 21 in San Diego. The expo, centered on the educational and cultural development of girls ages 11 to 18, will feature a college and career fair, science fair, art show, seminars, marketplace booths, runway fashion show, cyber lounge, live music and much more.
Attendees will attend hot-topic workshops and seminars, sign-up for local community service projects, and experience art, dance and music. They also will explore different college and career choices with the help of mentors and experts, learn how to create a healthy body image and uncover facts about food and nutrition. Also available at the expo will be information on how to create safe and empowering communities to stay safe in life and online.
Girls World Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, 500 Hotel Circle North, in San Diego’s Mission Valley area. Admission is $15 per person in advance and $18 per person at the door. The expo also will feature a “Girls of Merit Brunch” with keynote speakers Brent and Kelly King, founders of Chelsea’s Light Foundation.
