The American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) San Diego chapter has announced that the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, owners of the Sycuan Resort & Casino in El Cajon, is among the sponsors for the ADA’s 2013 Tour de Cure, a cycling fundraiser on Saturday morning, April 20 at Torrey Pines High School.
At this year’s ride, the 13th annual, more than 1,250 riders are expected to help raise more than $530,000 in donations for diabetes research and programs and services for people with diabetes. Five routes of 7, 30, 50, 75 and 100 miles will be offered for rides of all ages and skill levels. Routes will include oceanfront sights as well as backcountry roads that are popular with cyclists. People who have diabetes will be recognized with a “Red Rider” jersey to wear on the day of the event.
