Tickets now on sale for 2012 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl

June 17, 2024 – Our town took a magical trip down memory lane today. The Model T Ford Club of America rolled into town for their 2024 National Tour.

Dozens of these magnificent Model T’s lined our streets. It felt like stepping back in time.

The visitors took a stroll through our town’s rich history, from the old Lakeside Inn, the Auto Speedway route, made famous by racing legend Barney Oldfield, to our charming historic buildings and homes.

The Lakeside Historical Society opened their doors, welcoming everyone to explore the chapel, museum, Gift Shop, and the Speedway monument. It was a little slice of the past brought back to life.

Their visit was short, but the memories will last a lifetime. A huge thank you to the Model T Ford Club of America for stopping by and making the day in our hometown so special.

Tickets for the eighth annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl are now on sale. Ticket prices range from $45 to $65 and can be purchased through the Poinsettia Bowl ticket office at Qualcomm Stadium, Gate A, or by calling (619) 285-5039. Tickets also can be purchased at www.PoinsettiaBowl.com. A four-ticket package is available featuring four Plaza Level admission tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a game program for $170.
One dollar from every admission ticket sold will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego, allowing the charity to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The 2012 game will kick off at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at Qualcomm Stadium, and will match a Mountain West Conference team against Brigham Young University if BYU is bowl-eligible with at least six wins.
San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution with three local East County branch offices in El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee, has served as the bowl game’s title sponsor since the Poinsettia Bowl’s inception in 2005. SDCCU is the nation’s only credit union to serve as title sponsor for one of college football’s 35 bowl games. SDCCU operates 28 branches in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties with a member base of 235,000 and assets of $5.7 billion.
