The California Public Utilities Commission will conduct a public hearing on San Diego Gas & Electric’s general rate case at 2 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the El Cajon City Hall Council Chambers, 200 E. Main St. If SDG&E’s rate revenue increase is approved as filed, residential customers would see roughly a 3 percent increase, or $4.32 based on an average monthly usage of 500 kilowatt hours of electricity and 33 therms of natural gas, while small commercial and industrial customers would see roughly a 7 percent increase, or $37.66 based on average monthly use of 1,500 kilowatt hours of electricity and 300 therms of natural gas.
