The East County Chamber of Commerce has selected the East County Career Center as the non-profit beneficiary for its 11th annual Women in Leadership Luncheon (WILL) to be held on Friday, Nov. 1 at the Town and Country Resort Hotel & Convention Center in Mission Valley. Luncheon attendees are encouraged to donate portfolios, tote bags and watching in working order, which will assist the Career Center help women seeking employment and training. The Career Center provides workshops in job search, career changes, computer skills, networking tips and social media.
Tickets are now on sale for the luncheon. Cost to attend is $70 per person. A reception will begin at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. Winners will be recognized from six fields, including art/media, business, education/academia, healthcare, non-profit and hospitality. Keynote speaker at the presentation luncheon will be Deborah Scott, executive chef and partner of the Cohn Restaurant Group. Former TV anchor Carol LeBeau will return as emcee.
