Edco Disposal Corp., one of the largest, family-owned-and-operated waste collection and recycling firms in the U.S., is offering free shredding services from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Edco station, 8184 Commercial St., La Mesa. The shred day event is supported by the City of La Mesa. The public is invited to bring a maximum of two boxes containing personal and confidential information and have their sensitive paper documents shredded on the spot at no charge. No appointment is necessary. Paper documents should be removed from binders prior to shredding; however, staples, paperclips, CDs and floppy disks are okay for shredding. For more information, call the City of La Mesa (619) 667-1167.
