The city of El Cajon is looking for people to fill vacancies on several commissions and committees. The City Council is seeking a commissioner for its Personnel Commission for a four-year term to expire Jan. 31, 2018; a planning commissioner for a four-year term to expire Jan. 31, 2018; a public safety facility financing oversight committee member for a one-year term to expire Jan. 31, 2015; and a commissioner for its newly formed Veterans’ Commission for a four-year term to expire Jan. 31, 2018. Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office, first floor at City Hall, 200 Civic Center Way. Downloadable, interactive application forms also are available on the city’s website; look for the “City Commission Openings” link under the “What’s New” section of the home page. The filing period for applicants will run through 5:30 p.m. Jan. 16 with interviews and appointments scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 28 at the City Council chambers.
