The Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD), a public agency that supports various health-related community programs and services in San Diego’s East County region, has announced that El Cajon resident and radio personality Cliff Albert will emcee GHD’s 2014 Healthcare Hero awards luncheon on Wednesday, May 14 at Steele Canyon Golf Club. GHD’s Healthcare Hero Awards is an annual program that honors East County residents whose volunteer efforts help advance the delivery of quality healthcare in the East County region. Albert has worked in the local news media since his arrival in San Diego in August 1979. He has won numerous awards from the Associated Press, San Diego Press Club and the Radio and Television News Association. He recently left Clear Channel Radio where he served a program director for the past 18 years. Cliff and wife Marianne met in high school, and have been married since 1972. They have three married children and six grandchildren.
