Foothills Church’s nightly Christmas display features 100k lights, synched music; live nativity on Sunday, Dec. 15th

June 17, 2024 – Our town took a magical trip down memory lane today. The Model T Ford Club of America rolled into town for their 2024 National Tour.

Dozens of these magnificent Model T’s lined our streets. It felt like stepping back in time.

The visitors took a stroll through our town’s rich history, from the old Lakeside Inn, the Auto Speedway route, made famous by racing legend Barney Oldfield, to our charming historic buildings and homes.

The Lakeside Historical Society opened their doors, welcoming everyone to explore the chapel, museum, Gift Shop, and the Speedway monument. It was a little slice of the past brought back to life.

Their visit was short, but the memories will last a lifetime. A huge thank you to the Model T Ford Club of America for stopping by and making the day in our hometown so special.

Foothills Christian Church, 365 West Bradley Ave., El Cajon, is presenting its third annual “Christmas Nights at Foothills,” a free, nightly, synched-music Christmas light show featuring more than 100,000 lights, from 5 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 31. Motorists are invited to drive along West Bradley Drive, tune their car radio to 104.1-FM and enjoy the holiday light display that is synchronized to music.

In addition, a free walk-through, live nativity and petting zoo for children will be available between 5 and 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15 at the church courtyard area. Additional activities at the church only on Sunday evening, Dec. 15, will include live music, cookie decorating, coffee bar, free popcorn and hot chocolate bar, story-time reading, outdoor fire pits and seating, crafts for children, fake snow and photo booth, along with a Christmas marketplace and food court with vendors.
