KPBS, delivering content over multiple channels, including television, radio and digital media, has been named Media Company of the Year by the San Diego Advertising Club. The media outlet was selected as part of the Ad Club’s inaugural awards program called The Brand Diego Awards, which recognized outstanding San Diego brands and the marketing professionals that help build those brands.
“KPBS is honored to receive this award,” said KPBS general manager Tom Karlo, a La Mesa resident. “This demonstrates KPBS’ long and respected history within the community. Also, our commitment to serving our audience with trusted news and terrific programming is paying off with growing audiences and this recognition from a group of esteemed peers in the industry.”
Other media outlets nominated for the Media Company of the Year award included NBC7, U-T San Diego, KSON Radio, Univision Radio, Cox Media and KSDS-FM. The Ad Club said the media companies were evaluated based on leadership and innovation within their industry and community and creating a positive impact in the community.
