The La Mesa Sunrise Rotary Club has announced the election of Ivan Alba, owner of Learning is Power, an educational consulting firm, as 2013-2014 president. Alba said he plans to improve the club’s relationship with the community by having more local service projects working involving youth, the elderly and individuals with financial or health needs. Alba’s firm helps train teachers, principals and parents in how to strength mathematics programs. The La Mesa Sunrise Rotary meets at 7:15 a.m. every Friday at Terra Bistro, 7091 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego. Guests are welcome to attend.
