Santee resident Ron Burner, realtor, youth sports coach, joins Keller Williams Realty in El Cajon

June 17, 2024 – Our town took a magical trip down memory lane today. The Model T Ford Club of America rolled into town for their 2024 National Tour.

Dozens of these magnificent Model T’s lined our streets. It felt like stepping back in time.

The visitors took a stroll through our town’s rich history, from the old Lakeside Inn, the Auto Speedway route, made famous by racing legend Barney Oldfield, to our charming historic buildings and homes.

The Lakeside Historical Society opened their doors, welcoming everyone to explore the chapel, museum, Gift Shop, and the Speedway monument. It was a little slice of the past brought back to life.

Their visit was short, but the memories will last a lifetime. A huge thank you to the Model T Ford Club of America for stopping by and making the day in our hometown so special.

Keller Williams Realty San Diego East Foothills in El Cajon, the largest residential real estate brokerages in San Diego’s East County region with more than 320 agents, has announced that Santee resident Ron Burner has joined the firm as a real estate sales agent.

Burner, who recently began his fourth year in full-time real estate sales, grew up in Santee and graduated from Santana High School (class of 1998). Prior to real estate, he worked for 13 years in beverage sales and equipment maintenance for soft drink companies. At one time, he managed beverage distribution in 18 states.

Throughout his real estate sales career, since June 2016, Burner has been involved in the community as a youth sports coach. He recently served as a Little League baseball coach for his son’s championships team, the Camo Padres in the Caps division of the Santana National Little League.

“East County is a great community and it’s helpful to be familiar with the area and have a lot of connections,” said Burner. “I am fully aware of the current market trends and what it takes to get a great deal on a listing or get top dollar for your current home.”

Burner also has served as a high school football coach since 1998 at four high schools, including West Hills, Santana, El Capitan and Hilltop in Chula Vista. His dad, also named Ron Burner Sr., has served as head football coach at El Capitan High School Vaqueros since 2004. Ron, the father, also operates Nicolosi’s Italian Restaurant & Catering, 7005 Navajo Road, San Diego.

The winner of the annual prep football game between West Hills High and El Capitan High is presented with the Tony Burner Memorial Cup, named after the Burner family member who passed away unexpectedly in 2017 at age 33. Tony played quarterback on the West Hills football team from 1997 to 2000. Later, Tony also became involved in coaching football. Tony was to take over as offensive coordinator for the Vaqueros in 2017 before he passed away. The family also has established a $1,000 scholarship presented annually to El Capitan and West Hills high school student-athletes to assist with their college expenses.
