Senator Joel Anderson announces annual Legislative Open House

June 17, 2024 – Our town took a magical trip down memory lane today. The Model T Ford Club of America rolled into town for their 2024 National Tour.

Dozens of these magnificent Model T’s lined our streets. It felt like stepping back in time.

The visitors took a stroll through our town’s rich history, from the old Lakeside Inn, the Auto Speedway route, made famous by racing legend Barney Oldfield, to our charming historic buildings and homes.

The Lakeside Historical Society opened their doors, welcoming everyone to explore the chapel, museum, Gift Shop, and the Speedway monument. It was a little slice of the past brought back to life.

Their visit was short, but the memories will last a lifetime. A huge thank you to the Model T Ford Club of America for stopping by and making the day in our hometown so special.

California Sen. Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) has announced his annual Legislative Open House will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Toyota of El Cajon, 965 Arnele Ave. in El Cajon. The free event is an opportunity for Anderson and his staff to meet with constituents and hear ideas on how to improve California. Constituents will be invited to offer ideas for legislative bills in 2014. Anderson says several of the bills he has introduced in the past originated from suggestions by attendees who attended this annual event.
“It is important for me to represent my district to the best of my ability,” Anderson said. “This event gives me an opportunity to hear directly from my constituents about their opinions and legislative ideas. Certainly my best legislative ideas have come from the people I serve.” Donated hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. Anderson’s 36th district includes East San Diego County.
