Sharp Grossmont Hospital recently held an employee celebration featuring the announcement of Donna Flynt, manager of innovation, as leader of the year and Nicki Horanzy, physician educator specialist, as employee of the year. Flynt was instrumental in implementing a new clinical nurse specialist outcomes model that saves time and costs for the hospital. Horanzy was recognized for her efforts in ongoing physician education and training, as well as physician support and coverage.
In addition, Sharp announced the appointment of Dale Beatty as chief nursing officer (CNO) and vice president, patient care services. Beatty, with more than 12 years of experience as a CNO, will oversee the hospital’s clinical nursing departments. He previously worked at Northwest Community Healthcare, a 496-bed hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill., in the Chicago area.
