The Rock Church in San Diego will open its East County campus at 808 Jackman Dr. in El Cajon on Sunday, Sept. 15. A former Michael’s store has been remodeled to feature a 725-seat auditorium. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. The public is invited to attend.
Pastor Ricky Page is overseeing the East County ministry. “We are committed to spreading pervasive hope and making a difference throughout our community,” Page said. “With our new site, we look forward to building an everlasting relationship with El Cajon and becoming a dedicated community partner.” Sunday services will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.sdrock.com/campuses/eastcounty/.
Founded in February 2000 by Pastor Miles McPherson, the Rock Church draws 12,500 weekly attendees to eight weekend services at three campuses. The church features more than 150 ministries, including the Rock Academy Christian School. In 2012, Rock Church volunteers donated more than 235,000 volunteer hours through the San Diego region and internationally, the church said. The East County campus is the Rock’s third location joining the Point Loma and North County campuses.
